Cantos Siemers and Perry to compete in singles and doubles
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Irina Cantos Siemers and Luciana Perry of the Ohio State women's tennis team are set to compete in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships this week in Stillwater, Okla.
The 64-player singles tournament starts Monday, with the 32-team doubles competition kicking off Tuesday. Each tournament will hold a round each day, with the finals on Saturday. In the tournaments, all matches will be best-of-three sets. No-ad scoring and a seven-point tiebreaker (first to seven points, must win by two points) at six-games-all will be used for all matches. In doubles, a 10-point match tiebreaker will be played in lieu of a third set.

Perry will take on North Carolina's Carson Tanguilig at 10 a.m. ET, with Cantos Siemers, a No. 9-16 seed, facing Virginia's Hibah Shaikh at 11:30 a.m.Â
Cantos Siemers, a graduate student earned All-America status as a No. 9-16 seed and is now the program's first three-time singles All-American. Cantos Siemers joins Kristy Dascoli as the only Buckeyes to earn four NCAA singles berths and both are also the only two with more than two selections. The Buckeye captain earned her fourth unanimous All-Big Ten selection this year and she is 29-12 overall in singles. Cantos Siemers broke the program records for singles wins and combined singles/doubles wins this season. She reached the Round of 32 two of her first three appearances in singles (2021, 2023) and also competed with Sydni Ratliff in 2022, with the tandem falling to the tournament's No. 2 seed. Â
Perry was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and an All-Big Ten honoree in 2024. She is the fifth Buckeye freshman selected for the singles tournament and is the eighth Buckeye to earn a spot in both the singles and doubles championships, joining Cantos Siemers, Sydni Ratliff, Isabelle Boulais, Anna Sanford, Francesca Di Lorenzo, Monica Rincon and Dascoli. Perry has a 25-11 overall mark in singles this season.
As a duo, Cantos Siemers and Perry are 14-4 and the tandem was 8-1 in dual matches. They entered the rankings at No. 17 after the fall and have been in the Top 36 all season. Â
