
Spencer Named Big Ten Female Track Athlete of the Week

Janela Spencer recorded a pair of wins at the Penn Relays last weekend.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its weekly track & field awards on Wednesday. Sophomore Janela Spencer earned Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career following a pair of wins at the Penn Relays last weekend.

Individually, Spencer earned the Buckeyes' first 100m hurdles win in 24 years by running a personal-best time of 13.01. She won her heat in the prelims (13.30). Spencer also ran a leg on the winning 4x100m relay (43.92) after the relay had the fastest qualifying time (43.96). This season, Spencer ranks 21st in the country in the 100m hurdles and 23rd in the 4x100m relay.
