Game opened stretch of three straight road games for Ohio State
COLUMBUS, Ohio – A rally fell short for the Ohio State women's lacrosse team at Cincinnati Friday afternoon, as the Buckeyes lost to the Bearcats, 13-11, in Nippert Stadium.

Ohio State (7-5) led 4-2 midway through the first quarter but the Bearcats (10-4) scored the next five goals, leading 6-4 at the end of the opening period and 7-4 with 8:27 left in the second. Ohio State tallied three of the next four goals to draw within one (8-7) but a player down goal gave Cincinnati a 9-7 lead at the half. The Bearcats pushed the lead to 12-7 with the first three goals of the third quarter. Ohio State then went on a four-goal run to make it a one-goal game (12-11) with 11:04 remaining, but the Buckeyes were held off the scoresheet the rest of the way and a final UC goal sealed the 13-11 win.

Brynn Ammerman paced the Buckeyes with four points on two goals and two assists, while Jamie Lasda and Kate Tyack both had hat tricks and Zoe Coleman posted two assists. Erin O'Neil led the Buckeyes with four ground balls and two caused turnovers and Regan Alexander made seven saves.

- After a Cincinnati score at 6:35, Kate Tyack used a free position opportunity to draw the Buckeyes within two (8-6) at 5:45.
- Lasda's second of the day made it a one-goal game (8-7) at 3:48 but the Bearcats regained their two-goal lead at 2:08 with a player down goal and carried that advantage into halftime.
- The Bearcats tallied the first three goals of the third quarter to push the cushion to 12-7 with 6:55 left.

- In the third quarter, Leah Sax drove and scored at 4:33 for a 12-8 game. Coleman set up Lasda and Tyack for back-to-back goals at 3:41 and 1:15, respectively, to cut the UC lead to two through three quarters (12-10).
- Ammerman tallied unassisted less than four minutes into the fourth quarter to make it a one-goal game (12-11).
- The Bearcats held the Buckeyes scoreless the rest of the way and regained their two-goal lead with 4:15 left to help close out the win. Â

- Tyack had her second straight game with a hat trick and her fourth multiple-goal outing. A starter in the last four games, she has 14 goals and two assists for 16 points on the year, with at least one goal in each of the last four games.
- Ammerman has at least one point in each game this season and is second on the squad with 37 points, ranking first with 20 assists and tying for third with 17 goals. She now has five four-point games and eight with four or more points. She has seven multiple-assist outings and seven games with two or more goals.
- The four ground balls were a career high for O'Neil and it was her third game this year with multiple caused turnovers.
- Sax is second on the team with 19 goals and third with 25 points, with at least one point in 10 of 12 outings. Â
- Coleman recorded her fourth multiple-assist outing as a Buckeye. She is second on the squad with 13 assists on the year, adding 11 goals for 24 points to rank fourth in scoring.
