COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State (22-8), the No. 6 seed in the 2024 NCAA Championships, will open against No. 3 seed Grand Canyon (25-4) Tuesday (10:30 p.m.) at Walter Pyramid on the campus of Long Beach (Calif.) State University. The match will be streamed on NCAA.com.
The winner advances to the NCAA Semifinals against the winner of the No. 7 Belmont Abbey vs. No. 2 Long Beach St. match at 9:30 p.m. Thursday. That match also will be streamed on NCAA.com. LBSU is the host institution throughout the remainder of the NCAA Championships. The title match is set for 5 p.m. Saturday. The championship will be televised by ESPN2.Â

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State (22-8), the No. 6 seed in the 2024 NCAA Championships, will open against No. 3 seed Grand Canyon (25-4) Tuesday (10:30 p.m.) at Walter Pyramid on the campus of Long Beach (Calif.) State University. The match will be streamed on NCAA.com.

- Ohio State was the No. 3 seed in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Tournament after finishing third in the regular-season league race with an 11-5 record. The Buckeyes won their 19th overall MIVA Tournament Title with a 3-1 win over No. 4 seed Lindenwood April 20.Â
- In the three MIVA Tournament matches, senior outside hitter Jacob Pasteur led the Buckeyes with 57 kills. He hit .351 with six aces, seven assists and five blocks.Â
- Sophomore opposite Shane Wetzel added 48 kills while hitting .422. He also added 11 blocks. Junior middle Cole Young led the Buckeyes with 18 blocks with 21 kills.
- Ohio State has appeared in 28 MIVA Tournament title matches. Â
- Ohio State played in the MIVA finals in consecutive seasons (2023-24) for the first time since the Buckeyes won three-consecutive titles from 2016-18. The Buckeyes defeated Ball State on the road for the 2023 championship. Ohio State has won consecutive MIVA Tournament titles 10 times in its history.
- In Ohio State's last nine appearances in the MIVA Title match, the Buckeyes are 9-0 and have won 12 of the last 13 title match appearances.
- Ohio State downed No. 6-seed Lewis 3-1 April 13 to advance in the MIVA Tournament. The Buckeyes then took down No. 2 Loyola Chicago in the semifinals April 18, 3-1.Â
- Senior setter Michael Wright was named the MVP of the 2024 MIVA Tournament. He, along with senior Pasteur and Wetzel, earned spots on the 2024 All-MIVA Tournament team. Wright also won MIVA Tournament MVP in 2023.
- In the three MIVA Tournament matches this season, Wright had 144 assists, seven kills, five aces and six blocks. Â Â
- Against Grand Canyon, Ohio State is 16-3 all-time. The only other neutral-site meeting was a year ago at George Mason Jan. 14, 2023. The Antelopes won that one, 3-2. Â Â
- Grand Canyon was a member of the MIVA from 2010-17.Â
- Ohio State advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament with a 3-0 win over King University. The Buckeyes were led by Pasteur's match-high 17 kills along with 10 each from Wetzel and Jack Stevens.
- The Buckeyes have made 23 appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Ohio State last appeared in the event in 2023. Â
- Overall, the Buckeyes are 17-24 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. Ohio State won NCAA titles in 2011, 2016 and 2017.
- Pasteur and Young were named 2024 First Team All-MIVA by league coaches. Wetzel and Wright earned second team honors. There have been 139 Ohio State First Team All-MIVA selections all time.Â
- Pasteur has been named to the league first team three times and owns a MIVA Player of the Year honor (2023). A total of 18 Buckeyes have earned first team honors three or more times. This is the second first team honor for Young. He is one of 38 Buckeyes with two or more first team honors. Wetzel has earned second team honors twice and was the league freshman of the year in 2023. Wright, the 2023 MIVA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, earns his first All-MIVA honor.Â
- With one ace the last time out vs. the Lions, Pasteur is tied for second place in Ohio State history with 160. Miles Johnson (2014-17) shares second. Nicolas Szerszen (2015-18) owns the No. 1 spot with 238.Â
- Wetzel reached 300 kills on the year against Lewis in the MIVA quarterfinals. He now has a career total of 607 after recording 13 against Lindenwood.
