
Buckeye Women Set Program Record in Sprint Medley Relay at Penn Relays

Ohio State had student-athletes competing at both the Penn Relays and Clark Wood Invite on Friday.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track & field team had another successful day at the Penn Relays on Friday and began competition at the Clark Wood Invitational at Louisville as well.
The Buckeye women broke the program record in the sprint medley relay and finished fifth (3:45.73). Nya Bussey, Leah Bertrand, Bryannia Murphy and Aniya Mosley made up the relay squad. Daniel Edwards won the men's pole vault collegiate competition at the Penn Relays by clearing a personal-best height (5.01m / 16'5.25").

The Buckeyes wrap up competition at the Penn Relays on Saturday, starting with the women's discus championship at 9:30 a.m., and at the Clark Wood Invitational, starting with the women's javelin at 10 a.m.

PENN RELAYS RESULTS
- Triple jump: Brian Kellon was the men's runner-up (14.91m / 48'11"), while Atinuke Shittu represented the OSU women with a best mark of 11.71m / 38'5".
- Pole vault: AnneMarie Moses tied for fifth by clearing 3.60m / 11'9.75" on her first attempt.
- High jump: Sean Kaminski cleared a season-best 2.01m / 6'7" to finish sixth.
- Long jump: Kayla Watson rounded out the top-10 with a best mark of 5.62m / 18'5.25" to lead the Buckeyes.
- 4x100m relay (prelims): The Buckeye women's squad (Conde, Bussey, Spencer, Bertrand) had the fastest qualifying time (43.96) to advance to tomorrow's final. The Buckeye men's squad (Brown, Brann, Carmichael, Biega) finished with a time of 41.39.
- 100m (prelims): The OSU put three through to the finals with Nya Bussey finishing fourth (11.56), Leah Bertrand finishing seventh (11.63) and Fatouma Conde finishing ninth (11.67). Marcus Brown advanced on the men's side by finishing ninth (10.51).
- 100m hurdles (prelims): Janela Spencer qualified for Saturday's final by running the third-fastest time (13.30) in the heats.
- 4x400m relay (prelims): The Buckeye women's squad (Murphy, Conde, Effiong, Robinson) finished seventh (3:37.04) to qualify for the finals. The Buckeye men also moved onto the finals by finishing eighth with a season-best time of 3:06.86 (Carmichael, Louis, Hanson, Singh).
- 110m hurdles (prelims): Braxton Brann finished 10th with a time of 13.93.
- Shot put invite: The Buckeyes had three of the top-five performers in the men's shot put invite. Hayden Tobias was the runner-up (19.40m / 63'7.75"), while Adam Riedinger was fourth (17.63m / 57'10.25") and Carlos Aviles was fifth (17.42m / 57'2"). Lacey Stringer was the women's runner-up with a best throw of 16.04m / 52'7.5".
- 800m: The Buckeye women had two finish in the top-six as Carina Napoleon was the runner-up (2:10.37) and Amelia Figler finished sixth (2:12.94). On the men's side, Ivan Slyepkan finished seventh (1:55.23) and Cooper Citro ninth (1:56.17).
- 400m hurdles: Avery Clark ran a season-best time (1:00.25) to finish third.
- Hammer throw: All three Buckeye men finished in the top-six with Evan Johnson fourth (57.70m / 189'3"), Tobias fifth (56.61m / 185'8") and Anthony Wilks sixth (184'7"). The Buckeye women also had three in the finals – Lacey Stringer in third (54.62m / 179'2"), Marissa Henley in fifth (52.32m / 171'8") and Sophie Bidwell in seventh (50.94m / 167'1").
- Shot put: Kaylin Howey finished ninth with a best mark of 13.12m / 43'0.5".
