
Buckeyes Close Regular Season with 10-9 Win at Temple

Ammerman leads Buckeyes with four assists and five points, Hargraves scores hat trick
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Zoe Coleman's goal in the final five minutes broke a nine-all tie and stood as the gamewinner as the Ohio State women's lacrosse team downed Temple, 10-9, Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia. The game closed the regular season for the Buckeyes, who are now 8-8.

Temple (9-5) scored the first two goals of the contest but two Buckeye goals in 27 seconds tied the game at two. After the Owls moved ahead at 3:59, the Buckeyes' Leah Sax, a Philadelphia native, tallied twice in the final two minutes for a 4-3 Ohio State lead at the end of the first quarter. The Buckeyes would not trail the rest of the game. The Scarlet and Gray outscored Temple 3-1 in the second quarter and led 7-4 at the half. Ohio State opened the scoring in the third quarter but the Owls tallied the last three to draw within one (8-7) after the third stanza. The Buckeyes moved the lead to two early in the fourth but back-to-back Temple scores deadlocked the game at nine with 6:41 remaining. Coleman's goal, off a pass from Brynn Ammerman, with 4:29 left put the Buckeyes back ahead and neither team found the back of the cage the rest of the way.

Jamie Lasda recorded a team-high eight draw controls and goalie Regan Alexander made nine saves, leading the Buckeyes with five ground balls and three caused turnovers.

- Ohio State will be the No. 7 seed in the Big Ten Tournament and will take on No. 2 Penn State in a quarterfinal game at noon Saturday in University Park, Pa. B1G+ will stream the contest.
- Northwestern will host the semifinals May 2 and final May 3 in Evanston, Ill. The tournament winner receives the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. Â

- Jamie Lasda opened the Buckeye scoring at 7:57 and Brynn Ammerman set up Annie Hargraves just 27 seconds later to knot the score.
- The Owls scored the next goal at 3:59 for a 3-2 lead but Leah Sax tallied twice, at 1:56 on a free position chance and with just two seconds on the clock, for a 4-3 Buckeye lead after the first quarter.

- Lasda has 44 draw controls in the last six games combined and is first on the team with a career-best 65 this year, ranking seventh in a single season in school history. She moved into a tie for ninth place in program history with 109 career draw controls.
- Lasda leads the Buckeyes with 40 goals and is second with 46 points. She moved her career-long scoring streak to 22 games, with 51 goals, 18 assists and 69 points in the stretch (and is on a nine-game goal scoring streak). In her career, Lasda has 104 goals, 49 assists and 153 points in 59 games.
- Ammerman leads the Buckeyes with 28 assists and 47 points. She has multiple points in 10 games on the year and a point in all but one game. It was her first career game with four assists (one shy of her career best) and her fourth with three or more helpers.
- Hargraves has at least one goal in all but three games and has 23 goals and 24 points this year, ranking third on the team in goals. It was her fifth game with three or more tallies. Her 52 draw controls this season are tied for ninth in program history.
