The Buckeyes and Trojans get underway at 10 p.m. The opening set vs. the Bruins starts at 8 p.m. on the Pac-12 Network.Â

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- No. 8 Ohio State (14-4, 8-2 MIVA) opens the 2024 Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge at No. 12 USC (9-8) Friday before making the short trip to No. 4 UCLA (10-8) Sunday in Los Angeles. The Buckeyes and Trojans get underway at 10 p.m. The opening set vs. the Bruins starts at 8 p.m. on the Pac-12 Network.Â
- Ohio State began a stretch of five-consecutive matches vs. Top 15 teams last week in Columbus vs. No. 14 Lewis (W, 3-0) and No. 13 Loyola Chicago (L, 2-3).Â
- The Buckeyes take on No. 12 USC and No. 4 UCLA this weekend in Los Angeles at the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge.
- Then-No. 4 Ohio State earned a pair of 3-2 wins at the First Point Federation Cup in Austin, Texas. The Buckeyes knocked off then-No. 1 UCLA and then went the distance against No. 13 USC. Ohio State fell behind 0-2 against the Bruins before winning the final three sets. Against the Trojans, the Buckeyes won the two opening sets before USC tied the match at 2-all. The deciding fifth-set went to the Buckeyes, 15-12.
- Ohio State is 4-24 all-time vs. the Bruins and 9-19 in the series with the Trojans. Prior to the win in Austin, the Buckeyes last downed UCLA in Columbus Jan. 7, 2017 in the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge. Ohio State has won the last four meetings with USC and eight of the last nine matchups, including a 3-1 win at Penn State a year ago in the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge.Â
- In Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association play, Ohio State's defense is holding opponents to 10.08 kills per sent to lead the league. The Buckeyes are also leading the league in aces with 2.0 per set with a total of 74. Â
- Individually, Cole Young leads the conference in all matches in hitting at .449. Â Jacob Pasteur is the league leader in aces per set at .75 while leading in total with 50. Â
