Ohio State scores final seven goals, including three by freshman Kate Tyack
COLUMBUS, Ohio –What a comeback! The Ohio State women's lacrosse team scored the last seven goals of the game – including four in the final three minutes (three by freshman Kate Tyack) – to rally from an 8-2 deficit and defeat No. 19 Penn State, 9-8, Thursday evening in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. Ohio State improves to 7-4 on the year (1-3 B1G) with the win.
Penn State (6-5, 2-1 B1G) led 2-0 after the first quarter, 6-1 at the half and 8-2 through three quarters. It was all Buckeyes from there. In the fourth, Brynn Ammerman, Kampbell Stone and Leah Sax tallied for an 8-5 game with 5:35 remaining. Tyack made it a two-goal game at 2:56, with Annie Hargraves scoring 46 seconds later for an 8-7 contest. Tyack deadlocked the score at 1:04 and then notched the gamewinner with 10 seconds on the clock. Three of the Buckeyes' goals in the fourth quarter came on free position opportunities. Goalie Regan Alexander had 11 saves in the game, including six in the fourth quarter to help fuel the comeback. Ohio State controlled the draw throughout the contest, ending ahead 16-5. Jamie Lasda had seven draws, with Hargraves recording six.

In her career, Lasda has 95 goals, 49 assists and 144 points in 53 games. The seven draw controls were a season high and one off the personal best eight she had at USC Feb. 19, 2023.
- Hargraves has a point in nine of 11 games and now has 16 goals and 17 points on the year. The six draw controls matched her career high, set earlier this year vs. Kent State.
- Ammerman has at least one point in each game this season and is second on the squad with 33 points, ranking first with 18 assists and third with 15 goals.
- Sax is second on the team with 18 goals and third with 24 points.
- Stone has a goal in nine of her first 11 collegiate games and an 11-1-12 line on the year.
