Moldovan Continues Good Play at Valspar Collegiate

COLUMBUS, Ohio – On a day when a number of players struggled to score, senior Maxwell Moldovan carded a pair of 1-under par 70s and is tied for 10th after the first two rounds of the Valspar Collegiate at the Floridian Golf Club on Monday.
Moldovan made a total of seven birdies and an eagle over his two rounds on Monday. These were his 10th and 11th competitive rounds at the Valspar and he has yet to record an over-par round. In fact, he has 10 under-par rounds and just one round of even-par 71.
Neal Shipley opened with a tough 3-over 74 but rebounded with a roller coaster round of 1-under 70 in the afternoon. He made six birdies and an eagle in his second round, countering three doubles and a bogey. He’ll start the final round tied for 27th.
Adam Wallin carded a pair of 74s and is 6-over par through two rounds. He started his second round with back-to-back double-bogeys but settled down and played the final 16 holes at 1-under par.
Jackson Chandler started the day with a round of 76 and then carded a 73 in the afternoon round. Freshman Jack Vojtko posted rounds of 75-81 and is 14-over par.
The final round is slated for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and the Buckeyes will be paired with Alabama, Texas Tech and USF. The Buckeyes are just two shots behind Alabama for ninth place.
