COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 20 Ohio State men's lacrosse team is set for its second consecutive top-10 matchup as it travels to Ithaca, N.Y. to play No. 10 Cornell this weekend. The Buckeyes (4-1) and Big Red (2-1) faceoff Saturday, March 2 at noon from Schoellkopf Field.

The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

Buckeyes In a Nutshell

The Buckeyes suffered their first set back of the season last weekend at Virginia. Despite a career-high 17 save performance from freshman goalie Caleb Fyock and outscoring the Cavaliers in the second half, the Buckeyes fell, 8-14.
Fyock leads the country with a 7.43 goals against average and is atop the Big Ten with a .618 save percentage in four games this year.
Ben Mayer, who led the Buckeyes with three points against Virginia, now leads the team with 13 points on the year.
Gannon Matthews continues to lead the team with 11 goals through five games. Ed Shean has tallied a team-high five assists.
Ohio State is ranked No. 20 in this week's USILA Coaches Poll. The Buckeyes will play three top-10 teams in the next three weekends.
Ohio State is second nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 7.60 goals per game. The Buckeyes lead the Big Ten with an .889 average defending the extra man opportunity.
Ohio State is the leader in the Big Ten with 9.80 caused turnovers per game. Marcus Hudgins is the individual leader in the category with 2.20 caused turnovers per game.
Sophomore Cullen Brown leads non-faceoff players with 21 groundballs on the year. He is also second on the team with six caused turnovers.
Ohio State plays its third consecutive road game this Saturday. The team is 1-1 on the road this season.

History vs. Cornell

Ohio State and Cornell have met in the regular season in four of the last five seasons.
The teams last played each other in 2023 in Columbus, with Cornell earning a 16-13 win.
Ohio State played Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y. in its 2022 trip to the NCAA Tournament.
The Buckeyes are 2-6 against the Big Red all time.
