COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men's hockey team lost to No. 4-ranked Michigan State, 5-2, Saturday in Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing. The teams were tied at one after the first period, but the Spartans scored three times in the second, including twice on a major power play, to push ahead. Each team tallied once in the third for the final.
Â
The Buckeyes (12-16-4, 4-16-2 B1G) and Spartans (21-8-3, 15-5-2 B1G) end the weekend with a series split after a 6-2 Ohio State victory Friday. The loss ended a three-game winning streak for the Buckeyes, with all three vs. No. 4-ranked teams.
Â
Quoting head coach Steve Rohlik
"This was a disappointing loss. It was a tight game, but the five-minute major really hurt us. Again, special teams was the difference. We battled hard, but you can't put yourself in that position. We need to regroup and get ready for Penn State next weekend."
