
Buckeyes Hit the Road for Games vs. Instate Foes

Buckeye This and That
- The Ohio State women's lacrosse team hits the road for two games against instate foes this week.Â
- The Buckeyes will play at Youngstown State at 3 p.m. Friday and at Akron at noon Sunday.
- The Friday game against the Penguins will be streamed through the YSUsports YouTube channel and live statistics can be linked from OhioStateBuckeyes.com.Â
- Sunday's contest vs. the Zips will be held inside the Louis and Freida Stile Athletics Field House. There will be no video feed and live statistics can be found through OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
- Ohio State enters the weekend 2-0 after victories over Robert Morris and Kent State last weekend in Columbus. Youngstown State dropped a game at Oregon to open its schedule last weekend and Akron is 1-2 on the year, with road losses at Cal and UC Davis before a home win over St. Bonaventure.Â
- The games this weekend are the first for the Buckeyes against Youngstown State and Akron. Both teams are members of the Mid-American Conference (MAC).Â
- Kampbell Stone was named B1G Freshman of the Week after three goals and nine draw controls in the team's opening weekend.Â
- The games this weekend are part of a stretch of three games away from Columbus for the Buckeyes, who will play at No. 4 Denver Feb. 23 before returning home to host Butler March 2.
Last Time Out
- The Buckeyes opened the season with a 19-3 victory over Robert Morris last Friday and then defeated Kent State, 17-6, Sunday.Â
- All 37 Ohio State players available for the games saw playing time each day.Â
- Twelve Buckeyes recorded at least one goal, while 18 picked up at least one ground ball. The Buckeyes had the edge in shots, draw controls and ground balls in both contests.Â
Buckeye This and That
- Jamie Lasda led the Buckeyes with nine goals in the two games combined last weekend. Against Kent State she matched her career best with six goals, first set March 12, 2022 vs. Mount St. Mary's.
- Leah Sax scored twice in each game last weekend. The senior entered the season with one goal and three games played in her first three seasons. She started both contests last week.Â
- The attack also included Brynn Ammerman, who notched her first two games in the starting lineup. She had two goals and two assists for four points in each game, matching the career best she set last season vs. Robert Morris. Ammerman had nine points, with five goals and four assists, in 12 games played in 2023.Â
- Sophomore Zoe Coleman, who started both games at attack last week, scored twice vs. the Colonials and picked up an assist vs. Kent State.Â
- On defense, junior Lilli Sherman and freshman Audrey Schoemer made their first career starts last week. They were joined by Sarah Johnson, who started all 17 games a season ago, and Erin O'Neill, who had four career starts in her first two years in the Scarlet and Gray.
- Junior Annie Hargraves recorded a hat trick in the season opener and added a goal vs. Kent State. It was her third career hat trick and three-point outing. He had 13 goals while playing all 17 games in 2023.Â
- Ohio State is second nationally in draw control percentage (.766), recording 36 of 47 in the two games combined last week.
- The Buckeyes caused 19 turnovers last week. Goalie Regan Alexander led the way with four, and she also had a team-best six ground balls. Sherman had three caused turnovers and Casey Roberts and Amani Kimball-McKavish each had two.
