Swimming & Diving Welcomes Penn State for Senior Day

COLUMBUS, Ohio –The No. 11 Ohio State women's swimming and diving team and No. 12 men's swimming and diving will host their Senior Day meet on Friday, Nov. 8 at 3:00 p.m. against Penn State.

- Senior Day recognition will begin at 2:35 p.m.
- This meet will also be the military appreciation meet. The Buckeyes will recognize multiple people that have served our country, including strength coach Ryan Sprague.
- Fans can find paid parking in the Tuttle Garage.

- The Buckeyes improved to 4-0 with a 196-157 victory over Virginia Tech last week.
- Sienna Angove (2:00.82), Paige Hall (2:02.32) and Krista Marlin (2:02.94) placed 1-2-3 in the 200 IM.
- Mila Nikanorov and Gwen Woodbury took the top two spots in the 500 free. Nikanorov swam a time of 4:48.62 and Woodbury finished in 4:56.03.
- Paola Pineda Vazquez (356.70), Lena Hentschel (351.75) and Mia Prusiecki (316.95) placed 1-2-3 in the 3-meter dive. All three scores are NCAA Zones qualifiers.
- Jessica Eden won the 200 fly with a time of 2:03.69. Lucy Malys finished second with a time of 2:04.06.
- The Buckeyes opened day two against the Hokies with a victory in the 200 medley relay, with the team of Nyah Funderburke, Maria Ramos, Katherine Zenick and Teresa Ivan finishing in 1:39.42. Coming in third with a time of 1:41.57 was the relay team of Delia Lloyd, Ava DeAngelis, Paige Hall and Erin Little.
- Mia Rankin was the winner of the 400 IM with a time of 4:22.04. Marlin placed second, touching the wall at 4:22.29.
- Zenick raced to a win in the 100 fly; she finished in 54.38.
- DeAngelis won the 200 breast with a time of 2:16.38.
- Lloyd finished third in the 100 back, touching the wall at 55.10. Hall (55.67) and Marlin (55.95) placed fourth and fifth.
- Pineda Vazquez won the 1-meter dive with a score of 337.95. Hentschel placed second with a score of 336.60. Both scores are NCAA Zones qualifiers.
- Nikanorov won the 1000 free with a time of 9:53.57. Woodbury placed second with a time of 10:07.26 and Lucy Malys finished third with a time of 10:09.99.
- The Buckeyes closed out the meet placing second and third in the 400 free relay. The relay team of Angove, Zenick, Ivan and Rachel Bockrath finished second with a time of 3:19.93 and the team of Little, Marlin, Funderburke and Tia Lindsay finished third with a time of 3:25.68.
- The Buckeyes remained undefeated with a one-point win, 177-176, over No. 10 Virginia Tech last week.
- Tristan Jankovics (3:47.43), Alex Metzler (3:55.70), Sam Campbell (3:56.70) and Will Bansberg (3:56.89) finished 1-2-3-4 in the 400 IM. Jankovics' time is an NCAA B standard time.
- Tomas Navikonis was the winner of the 200 free with a time of 1:36.92.
- The Buckeyes went 1-2-3 in the 1000 free. Metzler took the top spot, finishing in 9:14.70. Campbell was second with a time of 9:15.58 and Mason Edmund finished third with a time of 9:17.25.
- Sam Campbell (2:26.25), TJ Frost (4:28.02) and Jordi Vilchez (4:28.74) finished 1-2-3 in the 500 free.
- Martin Perecinsky won the 200 back, touching the wall at 1:45.45. Cornelius Jahn was just behind him, placing second with a time of 1:45.56.
- Navikonis turned in an NCAA B standard time of 43.02 in the 100 free en route to a second-place finish.
- Tyler Read won the 1-meter dive with an NCAA Zones qualifying score of 373.35. Kylie Flory placed third with a score of 344.63, which is also an NCAA Zones qualifying score.
- Jankovics was the winner of the 200 fly, finishing in 1:47.45. Metzler finished second, turning in a time of 1:47.70.
- Trailing going into the final event of the meet, the Buckeyes came out strong in the 400 free relay and secured a one-point victory over Virginia Tech. The relay team of Navikonis, Fentress, McDonald and Baltes finished first in a time of 2:53.83, finishing less than one second ahead of Virginia Tech (2:54.05). Ohio State secured some extra points with the relay team of Jahn, Joseph Roth, Martin Perecinsky and Jankovics placing third with a time 3:00.62.
- The Buckeyes host the Ohio State Fall Invitational from Nov. 21-23 at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
