
Nikanorov Collects Third Big Ten Freshman of the Week Honor

COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the third time this season, Ohio State swimmer Mila Nikanorov has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
Nikanorov earned a resounding win in the 1650 free at the Ohio State Fall Invitational, finishing over five seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer. Her winning time of 15:49.26 is an NCAA A standard, which automatically qualifies her for the NCAA Championships.
Nikanorov placed second in the 500 free, turning in an NCAA B standard time of 4:38.84. She placed sixth in the B final of the 400 IM with a time of 4:17.86 and she was on the sixth place 800 free relay team that finished in 7:13.16.
The Buckeyes are back in action when they head to Ann Arbor to take on Michigan on Jan. 18.
