
Mosley, Santos Set for Madison and NCAA Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Saturday, Aniya Mosley and Daniella Santos of the Ohio State women's cross country team will compete in the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Madison, Wis. The tandem earned their spots after finishing in the Top 11 at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships.Â
The championships will be held at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course, hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The women will compete in a 6K race at 10:20 a.m. ET. The awards presentation is slated to begin at approximately noon ET and will be streamed through ESPN+. Live championship coverage will be broadcast on ESPNU and ESPN+ (subscription required) beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET. Live results will be available HERE. The Road to the NCAA Championships
- Mosley finished eighth at the NCAA Great Lakes Regionals, while Santos was 11th. They were two of 38 individuals selected to the NCAA Championships through an automatic qualifier and at-large selection process.
- Mosley crossed the line first for the Buckeyes each of the last four races. She earned First Team All-Big Ten honors after an eighth-place finish at the Big Ten Championships. She set her 6K personal best at the conference meet, finishing in 19:38.4 and ran 19:47.7 at regionals.
- Santos has been in the Buckeyes' Top 3 each of the five races she has competed in this year. Her season 6K best is 19:55.0 at the regional championships.
- The Buckeyes competed on the NCAA Championship course Oct 19, running in the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals. In the "B" race, Mosley was fifth in 20:30.4 and Santos was 44th in 21:29.6.
- Mosley and Santos give Ohio State 13 individual qualifier spots all-time, including 11 since 2010.
- Santos is the second Buckeye to make three NCAA appearances, joining Addie Engel (2021-23), and she and Engel are the only Buckeye women to qualify as an individual twice.
- Santos and the Buckeyes qualified as a team in 2022 and she was an individual selection a season ago. Santos finished 61st (20:22.4)Â at the 2022 NCAA meet in her first trip to the national race and was 67th (20:27.7) last year.
- Kathy Monard placed ninth at the 1986 race, the highest finish in school history, with Engel just behind after a 10th-place finish in 2022 to become the program's fourth NCAA All-American.
- Katie Borchers posted two Top 40 finishes (2013, 14)Â and is the program's first two-time NCAA All-American.
- Maureen Cogan earned AIAW All-America accolades in 1981 and NCAA All-America honors in 1983.
- Monard (2024) and Cogan (2023) were each recently inducted into Ohio State's Athletics Hall of Fame.

- Mosley has had a breakout cross country season, earning First Team All-Big Ten and All-Great Lakes Region accolades.Â
- As a freshman, she raced in just the season opener and as a sophomore Mosley competed in five events, including the Big Ten Championships; she was a counter in three of the five races she ran in 2023.
- This season, Mosley ran in the final four races and paced the Buckeyes in all four. She was 21st at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational, fifth in the "B" race at Wisconsin Pre-Nationals and eighth at both the Big Ten and Great Lakes Regional Championships.Â
- She earned First Team All-America and Second Team All-Big Ten honors in the 800m in the outdoor season and set the program's indoor and outdoor 800m records in 2023-24.
- Mosley is a human development and family science major.
Graduate Student - Hilliard, Ohio
- The graduate student captured her third All-Great Lakes Region accolade this fall. She is the third Buckeye to earn three All-Great Lakes Region accolades, joining Michelle Thomas (2012-14) and Addie Engel (2021-23).Â
- She is a two-time All-Big Ten honoree, garnering first team honors in 2022 and second team accolades in 2023.Â
- Santos has been a counter for the Buckeyes in all five Big Ten Championships and the four NCAA Regionals during her career.Â
- On the track, she broke the program record in the indoor 500m in 2023 and the outdoor 1000m in 2024. She is third all-time in the outdoor 5000m.
- She is a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete and has earned Academic All-Big Ten accolades.
- Santos earned her bachelor's degree in early childhood education in Spring 2024.
