Ohio State to run Friday morning at site of NCAA Regionals
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Friday, the Ohio State men's and women's cross country teams will run in the Spartan Invitational hosted by Michigan State in East Lansing, Mich. The women will run a 6K beginning at 9 a.m., with the men running an 8K at 9:30 a.m. The event will be held at the Forest Akers East Golf Course, site of the 2026 NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships.

McGraw Named B1G Men's Athlete of the Week
- Senior Will McGraw was named the Big Ten Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
- The Dublin, Ohio, native led the Buckeyes and was second overall at the season-opening Mike Baumer Cross Country Classic last Friday.
- McGraw ran his collegiate cross country 5K best of 15:14.4, finishing second behind only an unattached runner. All five Buckeyes placed in the Top 13, as Ohio State claimed the team title.
- Ohio State also ran in the Spartan Invitational last year, with the men finishing third and the women sixth as a team. Michigan State was also the host of last year's Big Ten Championships.
- The Buckeyes will be back in East Lansing for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships Nov. 13.
- At the season-opening Mike Baumer Cross Country Classic last Friday, both the Buckeye men and women claimed the team titles.
- Will McGraw was first for the men, with all five Buckeyes in the racing placing in the Top 13.
- For the women, freshman Layla Sahaydak paced the Buckeyes with a second-place finish and she was joined by five other Buckeyes in the Top 10.
- Freshmen Brock Jarrett and Nixon Snavely, along with senior Cooper Citro, made their collegiate cross country debuts for the men's squad last week.
- For the women, freshmen Sahaydak, Ava Shepard, Elle Cargould and Camryn Cayne made their collegiate debuts, along with transfer Alexa Fortman running her first race as a Buckeye.
- The Buckeyes will return to action Oct. 2 in Bethlehem, Pa., in Lehigh's Paul Short Run.
- The regular season ends in College Station, Texas with the Arturo Barrios Invitational Oct. 16.
