COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 12/12 Ohio State women's basketball team (3-0) takes a short drive to face Ohio (1-2) in Athens on Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and AM1460.
- Ohio State earned its first road victory of the season with a 67-63 decision at Belmont on Sunday.
- Facing their largest deficit of the game at 59-50 with just over five minutes remaining, the Buckeyes used a 13-0 run to take the lead back. Tied at 63 with the ball, freshman Jaloni Cambridge completed a three-point play to give OSU the lead with 12 seconds remaining. J. Cambridge drew a charge on the ensuing Belmont possession to seal Ohio State's win.
- Cotie McMahon led the game with a season-high 21 points and Ajae Petty had a season-high 12 rebounds. Also scoring in double figures were Chance Gray (13), Taylor Thierry (11) and J. Cambridge (10).
- This season, Ohio State has four players averaging double figures - Chance Gray (17.3), Cotie McMahon (16.3), Jaloni Cambridge (16.3) and Taylor Thierry (10.3). Ajae Petty leads the team's rebounding (7.3 rpg).
- Ohio enters the game with a 1-2 record after earning its first win of the season on Saturday against George Washington (52-40). The Bobcats have played only at home so far this season.
- The Bobcats fell in the season opener against Georgia Southern by an 82-70 margin and against Bellarmine by an 82-50 margin.
- Bailey Tabeling and Kennedi Watkins lead the Ohio offense with 14.3 and 14.0 points per game, respectively. Former Buckeye Anyssa Jones has been starting for the Bobcats and averages 6.3 ppg and 4.3 rpg.
- Ohio State is 23-1 in the all-time series with Ohio and holds a 6-0 advantage when facing the Bobcats in Athens. This is the third-consecutive season that the Buckeyes and Bobcats will face each other.
- The teams most recently met in Columbus on Dec. 5, 2023 when Ohio State earned an 85-45 victory. The Buckeyes built a 16-6 lead after 10 minutes and a 42-13 lead at halftime. OSU won the battle on the boards, 46-30, and forced 26 OU turnovers, recording 15 steals.
