The Buckeyes were victorious in their first road game of the season on Sunday as Jaloni Cambridge converted on a three-point play with 13 seconds to play.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 12/12 Ohio State women's basketball team (3-0) beat Belmont (2-2) on Sunday afternoon by a 67-63 margin in Nashville.
The Buckeye defense held the Bruins without a field goal in the final 4:38 of the first quarter to lead 20-16 after 10 minutes of play. Belmont battled back to take the lead momentarily in the second quarter, but Ohio State headed to the locker room with a 36-32 lead at halftime. The Bruins scored the final eight points of the third quarter to lead 50-47 after 30 minutes. Facing their largest deficit of the game at 59-50 with just over five minutes to play, the Buckeyes used a 13-0 run to take the lead back. Jaloni Cambridge sealed the victory with a three-point play with 13 seconds remaining and drew a charge on the ensuing Belmont possession.
Cotie McMahon was the first in the game to reach double figures, scoring 10 points in the first quarter on her way to a season-high 21 points total. Ajae Petty collected a season-high 10 rebounds to lead the game. Chance Gray (13), Taylor Thierry (11) and J. Cambridge (10) joined McMahon in double figures.

Chance Gray opened the game's scoring with a three-pointer. Belmont took its first lead of the game at 7-6 on the back of a 5-0 run and led by as many as four points at 12-8 before a triple from Jaloni Cambridge. The Buckeye defense did not allow a Bruins field goal in the final 4:38 of the quarter. McMahon had the final two baskets of the quarter to give Ohio State a 20-16 advantage after 10 minutes.
Ohio State scored the first nine points of the second quarter, increasing the lead to 29-16 with 6:32 to play in the first half. Belmont made back-to-back three-pointers out of the timeout to cut its deficit to 29-22. The Bruins extended their run to 16-2 to take the lead back at 32-31 with 2:37 remaining before halftime. Ava Watson made the first triple of her collegiate career and Ajae Petty converted on an offensive rebound to give the Buckeyes a 36-32 lead at halftime.
Belmont tied the game at 36 with a pair of quick jumpers to open the third quarter. Ohio State held a 42-40 lead midway through the quarter as both teams were defensively strong. The Buckeyes stretched their lead to 46-40, but the Bruins scored the final eight points of the quarter to take a 50-47 lead into the fourth.
Ohio State opened scoring in the fourth quarter to get within one, but Belmont responded with a 7-0 run to take a 57-49 lead, the Bruins' largest of the game at that time. Belmont led 59-50 before a 10-0 Ohio State run gave the Buckeyes a 60-59 lead with three minutes remaining. The Buckeyes extended their run to 13-0 on a three-pointer from Kennedy Cambridge before the Bruins broke their scoring drought with a pair of free throws. Belmont tied the game at 63 with another pair of free throws with 33 seconds to play. J. Cambridge converted a three-point play and drew a charge on the ensuing Belmont possession as the Buckeyes earned a 67-63 victory.
