COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will host Sun Belt Champion James Madison in an opening round match on Friday evening.

- This is Ohio State's 18th NCAA Tournament appearance and the 14th in the last 16 seasons.
- The Buckeyes are 14-16-2 in 32 NCAA Tournament matches, all of which have come under head coach Lori Walker-Hock.
- The Buckeyes have hosted 13 NCAA Tournament games and have a record of 8-3-2 in those games. In the last home NCAA Tournament game, Emma Sears scored in the 107th minute to secure a 1-0 victory over Bucknell in the 2022 opening round.
- This will be just the second meeting all-time between Ohio State and James Madison. The only other meeting came in the program's first season on Oct. 1, 1993, as JMU came away with a 1-0 victory in a match played in Greensboro, N.C.
- Ohio State is 12-5-3 on the season and finished tied for seventh in the Big Ten with a record of 6-3-2. The Buckeyes went 1-1 in the Big Ten Tournament, beating Wisconsin 1-0 in the opening round before falling to top-seed USC 1-0 in overtime in the quarterfinals.
- Kailyn Dudukovich had the game-winning goal against Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tournament. The goal, which was assisted by Amanda Schlueter, came with just 11 minutes left in regulation.
- For Dudukovich, it was her 42nd career goal as she continues to add to her program record. She is second in the country and tied for the most in the Big Ten with 17 goals this season. Her 35 points are also Top 10 nationally.
- The Buckeyes opened the season with a 1-0 victory over Duke and have remained in the Top 20 of the RPI all season long.
- James Madison earned an automatic bid to the tournament after capturing its first Sun Belt Championship. The Dukes are 12-3-5 on the season after defeating Texas State 3-2 in the Sun Belt Conference Championship last Saturday.
- A record 10 Big Ten teams earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament. USC is the top-seed in the Buckeyes' region of the bracket.
- The winner of Friday's match will play the winner of the match between FIU and Auburn. If Ohio State wins and No. 2 seed Wake Forest loses, the Buckeyes would host the second and third rounds next weekend.
