Mosley earns All-Big Ten honors with Top 10 finish
COLUMBUS, Ohio – An eighth-place finish by Aniya Mosley of the women's squad led the Ohio State men's and women's cross country teams at the Big Ten Championships Friday. The race was held at the
Orange and Blue Golf Course in Savoy, Ill., hosted by Illinois. The Buckeye women placed eighth and the men were 10th.
Mosley continued her breakout season, earning First Team All-Big Ten honors with her Top 10 finish. Ohio State has had at least one all-conference selection among the women six years in a row.
Zubin Jha was the first to cross the line for the men for the fifth straight conference meet, as he was 32nd overall.
Quoting head coach Sara Mason Vergote
"This has been a season of adversity for our women and I couldn't be prouder of how they handled themselves. Aniya had an incredible day. To be eighth in this conference is a huge achievement, but what makes it even more impressive is that one year ago she was 110th in the race.
"Being just three points out of eighth on the men's side is tough to swallow but I'm confident we will bounce back and surprise some teams in two weeks."
The Buckeye Men in the 8K
Zubin Jha was 32nd overall, leading the Buckeye men for a fifth consecutive Big Ten Championship. He raced a personal-best 23:25.7. Kevin Agnew, Weston Day, Colby Adams and Keegan Freyhof closed out the Buckeye counters, all running personal best times.
Liam Shaughnessy and Sean Carney were next for the Buckeyes, racing their career best times. Jack Agnew, John Cuozzo, in his best time, Kaleb Martin and Zach Beneteau wrapped up the Buckeyes in the race.
The Buckeye Women in the 6K
