Buckeyes Kick Off Year with Exhibition Game vs. Niagara Sunday

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The 2024-25 edition of the Ohio State men's hockey team starts its season with an exhibition game vs. Niagara at 2 p.m. Sunday in Value City Arena in Columbus. Admission and parking are free and all seating will be general admission. The game will be streamed through B1G+ (subscription required) and live stats will be available through OhioStateBuckeyes.com.

Buckeye This and That

The Buckeyes and Niagara have met eight times in the regular season, with the Buckeyes 7-1 all-time in the series. The teams last met Dec. 29-30, 2017 in Columbus, with the Buckeyes posting a sweep (3-2, 4-1).
Former Ohio State assistant coach Jason Lammers is in his eighth season as head coach at Niagara.
Ohio State will host 17 games in Columbus during the regular season, including 12 B1G matchups.
The Buckeyes returned 18 players from the 2023-24 squad, adding 10 newcomers (three transfers and seven freshmen).
Carter Krier joined the Buckeye staff as an assistant coach during the offseason.
Ohio State will play in its fifth outdoor game of the modern era in January, as The Frozen Confines: Big Ten Hockey Series will be played at Wrigley Field in Chicago Jan. 3-4.
