Buckeyes Head to UT Home Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's tennis team is heading to Knoxville, Tenn., for the UT Home Invitational Friday through Sunday. The Buckeyes will be joined by players from host Tennessee, Virginia, Nebraska and Arizona State.

Each day features singles and doubles matches. Friday and Saturday start with singles at 10 a.m. and doubles at 1 p.m. Sunday kicks off at 9 a.m. with doubles, followed by singles. Draws will be available HERE, with a live stream HERE and live stats HERE.

Buckeye This and That

Ohio State last competed in the ITA Midwest Regional Championships in Columbus Oct. 10-15. Buckeye sophomore Luciana Perry claimed the singles title – the first in program history – and clinched her spot in this fall's NCAA Championships. Audrey Spencer made a run to the singles semifinals, while Teah Chavez was a quarterfinalist. Alessia Cau and Nao Nishino both posted two wins in qualifying to earn a spot in the main draw. The duo of Dani Schoenly and Sydni Ratliff led the way in doubles, reaching the quarterfinals.
Perry was named the B1G co-Athlete of the Week after winning the regional title.
In the first ITA rankings of the season, Luciana Perry and Sydni Ratliff were ranked fourth in doubles, the highest doubles ranking for both Buckeyes. They are the fourth Ohio State doubles team to reach the Top 5, joining Miho Kowase and Anna Sanford, Kowase and Francesca Di Lorenzo and Kristy Dascoli and Monica Rincon.
In singles, Perry was ranked No. 23, with Ratliff No. 50 and Shelly Bereznyak No. 71.

Looking Ahead

Ohio State added the Michigan State Invitational, set for Nov. 1-3, to its fall schedule.
Two individual tournaments, the ITA Central Section Championships and ITA Conference Masters Championships will be held Nov. 7-10.
The NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships have been moved to the fall and will be contested Nov. 19-24 in Waco, Texas. Players can earn berths into the national championships through the four ITA events in the fall. More information on the pathway to the NCAAs is available HERE.
