Nikanorov Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State swimmer Mila Nikanorov has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, announced by the conference on Wednesday. It is the first weekly conference award of her career.
In her collegiate debut, Nikanorov won both distance events. She touched the wall first in the 1000 free with a time of 9:42.80, which was 16 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Nikanorov also placed first in the 500 free with a time of 4:50.18. Her wins helped the Buckeyes to victories over Kentucky, 218-80, and Akron, 224-74.
The Buckeyes are back in action on Friday, Oct. 25 when they host Denison at 5:00 p.m. at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
