COLUMBUS, Ohio -- No. 4 Ohio State (4-0) travels for the first time this season for a pair of Top 15 battles against No. 1 UCLA (4-0) and No. 13 (USC) this weekend at the Austin (Texas) Convention Center. The Buckeyes, Bruins and Trojans are playing in the third First Point Collegiate Challenge, which features many of the nation's top men's volleyball programs in the state of Texas. Ohio State and UCLA meet at 5 p.m. Friday while the Buckeyes and USC match up at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Both will be streamed live by FloVolleyball.

No. 5 Ohio State went five sets against No. 17 UC San Diego in Columbus Jan. 13 and came away with a 3-2 win to improve to 4-0 on the season.
Jacob Pasteur reached 20 kills in consecutive matches last week to earn the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Offensive Player of the Week. He finished the week with 43 kills while hitting .375 with four aces and 17 digs.
The 57th season of Ohio State men's volleyball opened with a home win (3-0) over the North Greenville University Crusaders Jan. 3. The Buckeyes then earned 3-1 victories over both Daemen (Jan. 7) and St. Francis (Jan. 8).

Redshirt senior middle blocker Justin Howard earned the first MIVA Defensive Player of the Week award after leading the Buckeyes with nine blocks over the first two wins over the season. He also has 10 kills in each of the last two victories.
Ohio State opened the 2024 season ranked No. 5 in the AVCA Coaches Poll. Ohio State moved to the No. 4 spot this week after starting the season 4-0.
Pasteur was named an Off the Block First Team preseason All-American. He also was named the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Preseason Player of the Year by the league coaches. The Buckeyes were the unanimous No. 1 MIVA preseason pick.
