Spencer Named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week

Sophomore Caden Spencer won both of his events in Saturday’s season-opening win against Greenville.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its weekly men's gymnastics awards on Monday. Sophomore Caden Spencer was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for the second time of his career following Ohio State's win on Saturday.

Spencer was 2-for-2 in the Buckeyes' win over Greenville in the season opener on Saturday, winning both of his events on the day as the anchor. Spencer stuck his dismount to earn a career-best 14.250 on the parallel bars with his score 0.650 more than the runner-up. Spencer continued his dominance on high bar with a 14.350, just 0.050 shy of his career-best and more than a full point higher than the runner-up. He ranks second in the country on high bar and fourth on parallel bars.
