
Spring Slate Opens with Michigan Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio – This week, the No. 14-ranked Ohio State women's tennis team will return to action with the Michigan Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Buckeyes will compete against players from the host No. 5-ranked Wolverines, No. 3 Georgia and No. 20 Georgia Tech in the individual event. Each team will play three rounds of doubles and three rounds of singles, with one round of each per day. There is no team scoring.

Friday, Ohio State is slated to take on Georgia in singles at 10 a.m. and Michigan in doubles at 1 p.m. Saturday, the Buckeyes' day starts with doubles vs. Georgia at 10 a.m., followed by singles matches vs. Georgia Tech. Sunday wraps up for the Scarlet and Gray with a round of doubles against Georgia Tech at 10 a.m., followed by singles vs. Michigan.

Buckeye This and That
- Ohio State had two players ranked in singles and two ranked doubles teams in the ITA rankings after the fall season.
- Irina Cantos Siemers is No. 15 in singles, with Luciana Perry No. 85. In doubles, Cantos Siemers pairs with Sydni Ratliff as the No. 17-ranked team and Cantos Siemers and Perry are No. 21.
- Eight non-conference opponents on the Buckeye schedule were ranked in the ITA Top 25 to start the year.
- Five Buckeyes competed in the Michigan Invitational in the fall, combining for an 11-3 singles mark and 5-2 double ledger.
- The Buckeyes will open dual match play with a trip to Oklahoma. They will take on Oklahoma Jan. 19 in Norman, Okla., and Oklahoma State Jan. 21.
- Ohio State will again host ITA Kickoff Weekend matches. The first round features the Buckeyes vs. Notre Dame and Kansas vs. Arizona State Jan. 26, with championship and consolation matches Jan. 27. The site winner will advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
- From February through April, the Buckeyes will host nine regular season matches in Columbus, with seven road matches on the schedule.
- Admission and parking are free for all regular season matches in the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
