Buckeyes Back to B1G Play with Home Series vs. Notre Dame

The Basics
- The Ohio State men's hockey team is back in Big Ten action with two games vs. Notre Dame this weekend.Â
- The teams will meet in Value City Arena in Columbus at 7 p.m. Friday and 7:15 p.m. Saturday.
- Big Ten Plus will stream the series opener. Game two will be televised by BTN; the broadcast will begin on the Fox Sports app and will be joined in progress on BTN at 8 p.m. Ohio State Radio will carry both games on 1460 AM and the Ohio State Buckeyes app. Live statistics can be linked from OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
- It is Military Appreciation Weekend and all military members can receive two free tickets to each game through Vet Tix online or at the box office on game night. Ohio State President Ted Carter will drop the ceremonial puck pregame Friday. Saturday is Alumni Night for the men's hockey program, with an on-ice recognition pregame, and there will be a postgame meet and greet with select members of the current team.Â

- Ohio State is 8-8-4 on the year, unbeaten in its last four games, and swept Bowling Green in a home-and-home series last weekend. Notre Dame is 10-10-2 and dropped two games to Wisconsin last time out.
- The Buckeyes wrapped up nonconference play undefeated with an 8-0-2 mark. The regular season ends with seven straight Big Ten series, with four at home.Â
- Ohio State and Notre Dame met in South Bend, Ind., Nov. 10-11, with the Irish posting a two-game sweep. These are the first games in Columbus between the teams since they split a series in November 2022. Â
- So far this season, 21 Buckeyes have gotten on the scoresheet, including 19 goal scorers.Â
- Five Buckeyes - Stephen Halliday (19), Davis Burnside (15), Scooter Brickey (15), Theo Wallberg (13) and Cam Thiesing (13) - have hit double-digit points. Halliday, who led the Buckeyes in assists (32) and points (41) as a freshman last season, has a team-high 14 assists.Â
- Thiesing enters the series vs. Notre Dame on a five-game goal-scoring streak. He is second on the squad with seven goals this year.Â
- Defenseman Scooter Brickey was named B1G Third Star of the Week after scoring a team-best three goals, with a +4 mark, in the sweep of Bowling Green. Brickey leads the Buckeyes with eight goals and is tied for second with a career-high 15 points.Â
- The Buckeyes will play their next four games on the road.
- The squad will travel for two 8 p.m. ET games at Minnesota Jan. 19-20 and then head east to Penn State for a series Jan. 26-27.
- The opener at Minnesota and both PSU games will be streamed through Big Ten Plus, with the second game vs. the Gophers on BTN.
- Ohio State will be back in Columbus to host Michigan Feb. 2 (7 p.m.) and Feb. 3 (8 p.m.).Â
