COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men's and No. 30-ranked women's cross country teams are slated to compete in the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational Friday.
The meet includes two races per gender. The women's gold division 6k will start at 11:15 a.m. ET, with the men's gold division 8k at 11:45 a.m. ET. The championship races will follow, starting with the women's 6k at 12:25 p.m. ET and wrapping up with the men's 8k at 1 p.m. ET. The championship races will include 15 teams of 10 athletes and the remaining teams and athletes will be in the gold division races. Among the teams racing are Big Ten schools Indiana and Wisconsin for both the men and women and Michigan and Northwestern in the women's race.

This and That
- The Buckeye women are No. 30 in the USTFCCCA national rankings this week. Other women's Big Ten schools in the Top 30 include No. 14 Michigan State, No. 17 Wisconsin and No. 26 Michigan. Ohio State has been in the national rankings since the third set of rankings in 2022.
- The women ran last weekend, competing against top teams at the Virginia Invitational. The men last ran in the Badger Classic Sept. 9.
- Addie Engel, the defending Big Ten Champion and a 2023 All-American, has been named Big Ten Runner of the Week twice this season and was also recognized as the NCAA and USTFCCCA National Runner of the Week. She has placed in the Top 16 in 16 of her last 17 races (with the lone exception when she ran as an individual at the 2021 NCAA Championships). She started the year with first-place finishes at both Wright State and Wisconsin and placed 11th at UVA last week.
- For the men this year, Zubin Jha was the top finisher week one, while Kevin Agnew placed first for the Scarlet and Gray at Wisconsin. Engel has crossed the line first for the women in their three events.
- After a week off, the final regular season race for the Buckeye men and women is the Texas A&M Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station, Texas, Oct. 13.
- The men and women will travel to Madison, Wis., for the Big Ten Championships Oct. 17 and the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships Nov. 10.
