5/3/2023 4:09:34 PM | Men's Golf
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team has earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament and will head to the Auburn Regional later this month. The Auburn Regional will be played on May 15-17 at the Auburn University Club.
The top five teams and top individual not on a qualifying team at each of the six regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., on May 26-31.
Ohio State is the No. 5-seed in the 13-team regional. The Buckeyes have qualified for a regional for the fourth consecutive season and for the fifth time under head coach Jay Moseley. Last season, the team finished third at the Columbus Regional on its home course to qualify for its 47th NCAA Championship.
The Buckeyes have seven Top 5 finishes this season including a pair of wins at the Cal Poly Invitational in the fall and the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate last month. They are coming off a fifth-place finish at the rain-shortened Big Ten Championship last weekend. Maxwell Moldovan earned All-Big Ten honors for the third-consecutive season and Adam Wallin has the team’s lone individual victory, claiming medalist honors at the Cal Poly Invitational.
Ohio State holds an 8-3-1 head-to-head record against teams at the Auburn Regional.
Play gets underway at 7:30 a.m. each morning on May 15-17.
