
No. 3 Seed Buckeyes Host No. 6 Lindenwood in MIVA Tournament

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State (19-9) earned a share of the 2023 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association regular-season title Saturday after knocking off Loyola Chicago 3-0 at the Covelli Center. The Buckeyes share the title with the Ramblers and Ball State, all with 11-3 league records this season. The Buckeyes have won or shared 28 MIVA regular season titles all-time.
After tiebreakers, the Buckeyes will be the No. 3 seed in the MIVA Tournament and will host No. 6 Lindenwood at 5 p.m. April 15 at Covelli.
Ball State will be the No. 1 seed, winning the three-way tiebreaker against Loyola Chicago and Ohio State. No. 2 Loyola then won the subsequent tiebreaker against No. 3 Ohio State to claim the No. 2 seed. Lewis (7-7) won the tiebreaker against Purdue Fort Wayne (7-7) and Lindenwood (7-7) to earn the No. 4 seed and the final first-round home match. The No. 5 Mastodons won the next tiebreaker against No. 6 Lindenwood. No. 7 McKendree (1-13) won the tiebreaker against No. 8 Quincy (1-13).

The first round will feature No. 1 Ball State hosting No. 8 Quincy, No. 2 Loyola Chicago hosting No. 7 McKendree, No. 3 Ohio State hosting No. 6 Lindenwood and No. 4 Lewis hosting No. 5 Purdue Fort Wayne.
All opening round matches will be on Saturday, April 15. Semifinal matches will be hosted by the higher seeds on Wednesday, April 19. The MIVA Championship will be on Saturday, April 22 at the highest remaining seed.
