Buckeyes Set for Road Game at Marquette Tuesday

The Basics
- The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team heads to Milwaukee, Wis., to take on Marquette in its final nonconference game of the regular season.
- The teams will meet at 1 p.m. ET Tuesday at Valley Fields, with the game streamed through FloSports. Live statistics will be available.
- The Buckeyes enter the game 5-7 on the year (0-3 Big Ten) and the Golden Eagles are 10-1 (1-0 Big East).
- Ohio State will return to Big Ten play with a game at No. 10 Maryland Saturday afternoon.

Buckeyes vs. Golden Eagles
- Ohio State is 3-0 all-time against Marquette.
- The squads met in Columbus last year, with the Buckeyes posting an 18-11 win inside Woody Hayes Athletic Center in February. Ohio State trailed 6-5 after the first quarter and 8-7 at halftime. The Golden Eagles pushed the advantage to 10-8 early in the third quarter before the Buckeyes took control, with what was eventually a nine-goal run. Ohio State scored four times in the final 6:25 of the third to tie the game and take the lead and then scored the first five goals of the fourth quarter, pushing the lead to 17-10 at 6:59. Of the current Buckeyes, Jamie Lasda, Nicole Ferrara and Caly O’Brien each had a hat trick in the win, with Lasda adding two assists and Ferrara one.
- The first game between the schools was in Columbus March 1, 2019, an 11-9 Buckeye victory, with the second March 7, 2020, when Ohio State posted a 16-14 win road win in Milwaukee.
- Marquette is 10-1 on the year, with a 4-1 record at home. The squad is coming off a 14-12 win at Georgetown Saturday.
Buckeye This and That
- The Buckeyes are scoring 10.08 goals a game while allowing 11.17 per outing.
- Ohio State was off last weekend, with its last game a 16-6 win over Louisville at home Tuesday.
- Jamie Lasda leads the Buckeyes with 23 assists and 41 points and is second with 18 goals. She had a career-high five assists and seven points in the victory over Louisville. Lasda has four or more points in seven of the last eight games.
- Nicole Ferrara is first on the squad with 30 goals and second with 37 points. She tallied five times against Louisville (on five shots), her third five-goal outing of the season and in her career. Her personal best is six goals in a game, set vs. Northwestern April 8, 2021. She now has 10 games with five or more points and enters the game at Marquette with 99 goals in the Scarlet and Gray.
- Freshman Casey Roberts had a hat trick and two assists for a career-best five points against the UofL Cards. A starter in all 12 games this season, she has tallied 13 goals and four assists for 17 points.
- Annie Hargraves had her first career hat trick against Louisville after her first collegiate multi-goal outing at Penn State the game before.
- Three freshmen have started for the Buckeyes this season. Roberts started each of the first 12, Zoe Coleman has 11 starts and Katie Kaucheck has been in the starting lineup the last eight outings.
- Coleman had a point in nine of the first 12 games, including scoring twice vs. both Colorado and Johns Hopkins, and has an 8-3-11 line this season.
- Sarah Johnson, Ava Keethler and Emily Magalotti have started all 12 games on defense for the Buckeyes. Magalotti had a career-high six ground balls vs. Louisville and is second on the team with 23 this season.
- Regan Alexander started all 12 games in the cage for the Buckeyes and has 109 saves, with 10-plus in seven outings. She has a team-best 26 ground balls, including a career-high 11 vs. Johns Hopkins, the second-most in a single game in the NCAA this season.
- Caly O’Brien leads the Buckeyes with 35 draw controls after recording 10 in her first 38 games in the Scarlet and Gray. Jamie Lasda is second with 34 after posting nine her first two years. Jamie Level is third with 32 and has two collegiate seasons with 50+ draw controls.
- Chloe Johnson, who missed the first seven games and has had limited playing time her first five games back, had seven draw controls vs. Colorado. With three against Louisville she moved into a tie for second all-time, matching Katie Chase who had 221 from 2012-15 in second. Molly Wood holds the program record with 237 from 2015-18. Johnson set the Buckeye record with 124 last season, the first Ohio State player with more than 100 draw controls in a season.
The Schedule Ahead
- The Buckeyes will return to Big Ten play at No. 10 Maryland Saturday. The teams will meet at noon, with the game streamed through Big Ten Plus.
- The regular season home finale will be vs. No. 2 Northwestern at 6 p.m. April 15, televised by ESPNU.
- The regular season wraps up at Rutgers April 20, with the teams meeting in Piscataway, N.J., at 6 p.m. on BTN.
