
Buckeyes’ Win Streak Snapped by Wright State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Buckeyes’ (11-7) win streak was halted at seven games as they fell to Wright State (9-10), 3-0, on Tuesday night.
Game Recap
- Trey Lipsey had a lead-off single in the bottom of the first inning and Marcus Ernst was walked with one out on the board, but both were stranded.
- Tyler Pettorini hit a two-out single in the bottom of the second inning, followed by Josh McAlister drawing a walk, but the Raiders got the final out on a fielder’s choice to keep the game scoreless.
- The Buckeyes turned a double play to wrap up the top half of the third inning, keeping Wright State off the board.
- The Raiders took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning after a solo homerun.
- In the top of the eight, Wright State scored on an Ohio State error to get ahead by two, 2-0.
- Kade Kern singled to left field and advanced to second on a Raider error, but he was stuck there as the next two Buckeyes flied out.
- An RBI single in the ninth gave the Raiders a 3-0 lead, which was the winning score after the Buckeyes went down in order in the home half.

- Lipsey, Kern and Pettorini each had one hit.
- Starter Gavin Bruni fanned four and allowed only one hit in 3.1 scoreless innings of work.
- Jonah Jenkins (3-1) took the loss on the mound. He struck out three and gave up one run on four hits in 3.1 innings pitched.
