Aquilla Named Big Ten Female Field Athlete of the Year

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference released its indoor track & field awards on Wednesday following the completion of the NCAA Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, N.M. last weekend. Graduate thrower Adelaide Aquilla was named Big Ten Indoor Female Field Athlete of the Year for the third-consecutive year.
Aquilla won her fourth NCAA Championship in the shot put with a best throw of 19.28m, breaking her own indoor program record and earning her spot on the All-American First Team. She also won the shot put competition at both regular-season meets she threw in – the Indiana Relays (17.89m) and Music City Invite (17.79m).
