Ohio State Career Stats & Season Highs
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team, 3-1 on the year, returns home for two games. The Buckeyes will host No. 11/8 Denver at 1 p.m. Saturday and Cincinnati at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Both games will be in the new Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. Admission and parking are free.

Buckeyes vs. Pioneers
- Ohio State is 3-1 all-time against Denver, with the first three games from 1999-01.
- The teams first met in Columbus April 25, 1999, a 26-10 Ohio State victory. The next year, the Buckeyes won 19-5 on the road and March 23, 2001, Denver came back to Columbus, with Ohio State posting a 16-3 victory.
- The squads resumed the series last season, with the Pioneers hosting a game Feb. 25, 2022. Denver won, 12-5.
- The Pioneers, a member of the Big East, are 3-0 this season, with wins at Louisville (5-4), Vanderbilt (11-6) and Colorado (9-8).
Buckeyes vs. Bearcats
- The Buckeyes are 9-1 all-time against Cincinnati, with a 4-0 record at home.
- The teams met each year from 2015-2020 before the streak was ended in 2021 when Ohio State played only Big Ten games in the regular season.
- In the last game in Columbus, Ohio State won 15-10 over the Bearcats in 2020. The Buckeyes were 18-6 winners Feb. 16, 2022.
- Gina Thomas (Oliver), UC head coach, was a three-time All-American for the Buckeyes and is the program’s all-time leader in ground balls (236) and caused turnovers (201), ranking fifth in draw controls (121) and ninth in career points (166).
- Cincinnati is a member of the American Athletic Conference. The Bearcats started the year 4-1, with victories at home over Kent State (14-7) and Robert Morris (24-9) and a road win over Gardner-Webb (20-9). The squad lost at home to Marquette, 19-13, Sunday.

Buckeye This and That
- The Buckeyes opened the year with home wins over Robert Morris (18-6) and Temple (10-9) before a road win at San Diego State last Friday (10-4). The squad fell at No. 20 USC, 18-10, Sunday on the road.
- Nicole Ferrara leads the Buckeyes with 13 goals and 14 points and Jamie Lasda has a team-best four assists and 18 draw controls. Lasda, who has at least one goal in each game this season, had nine draw controls in her first 25 games in the Scarlet and Gray.
- Jamie Level is second with 16 draw controls and eight goals, with back-to-back hat tricks and at least one goal in each outing.
- Ferrara enters the game on a 25-game point streak, with 60 goals, 25 assists and 85 points during the stretch. She has 118 points in the Scarlet and Gray in 41 games (82g, 36a).
- Junior Regan Alexander, Ferrara and graduate student Ava Keethler were selected as captains for the 2023 Buckeyes. Ferrara was also a captain as a junior in 2022.
- Keethler, a defender, and Ferrara and Chloë Johnson, who both play attack, were recognized as Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch. The trio all earned Second Team All-Big Ten accolades last year.
- Johnson, who was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, set the school record for single-season draw controls last year with 124, the only Buckeye with more than 100 in a season. She is third all-time with 209 career draw controls, behind only Molly Wood (237 from 2015-18) and Gabby Capuzzi (221 from 2012-15). Johnson matched the school record with 13 draw controls at Duquesne last season and has six games with 10 or more.
- Keethler (health sciences program) and Level (psychology) earned their bachelor’s degrees last spring. Keethler is now pursuing a graduate degree in assistive and rehabilitative technology and Level is working toward her master’s in sports coaching.
The Buckeyes’ New Home
- This marks the inaugural season for the state-of-the-art Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.
- The stadium features 360-degree vantage points, a heated turf, a first-class training room and more.
- Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium is located on the north end of the Ohio State Athletics District, between the Jennings Wrestling Facility and Ty Tucker Tennis Center and across from the Schumaker Complex on Irving Schottenstein Drive.

The Schedule Ahead
- The Buckeyes will travel to Harrisonburg, Va., to face James Madison March 4.
- The Big Ten slate begins with a Thursday night home game vs. Michigan March 9 before the Buckeyes take on Colorado in a nonconference game March 12.
- Admission is free to all Ohio State women’s lacrosse regular season home games.
