
Buckeyes Set for Two Games in California

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team, 2-0 on the year, heads west for two games in California this weekend. The Buckeyes will take on San Diego State at 8 p.m. ET Friday and Southern California at 4 p.m. ET Sunday.

The Buckeyes are 2-0 on the year after posting victories over Robert Morris and Temple last weekend to open their new stadium. The Aztecs are 0-2 after falling on the road to Notre Dame and Marquette and USC started its year with a loss at No. 3 Boston College.
Nicole Ferrara led the Buckeyes in their opening weekend, scoring 10 goals on 14 shots. Jamie Level and Jamie Lasda earned 11 and nine draw controls, respectively, in the team’s first two games of the season. On defense, Lasda and Casey Roberts each recorded a team-high three caused turnovers on the weekend. In the cage, Regan Alexander started both games and had 15 saves, including 12 vs. Temple (one shy of her career best).
Buckeye with Firsts and Bests Last Weekend
- Sophomore Brynn Ammerman picked up her first two goals, two assists and four points as a Buckeye.
- Sophomore Margaret Lawler made her first two starts on defense, as did redshirt sophomore transfer Emily Magalotti.
- Freshman Zoe Coleman made her first two collegiate starts and had an assist.
- Sophomore Leah Sax found the back of the cage for the first time as a Buckeye.
- Newcomer Amani Kimball-McKavish notched her first collegiate goal, as did redshirt freshman Annie Hargraves. Freshman Kit Zanelli recorded her first assist and point.
- Senior transfer Sarah Klein posted her first two goals as a Buckeye.
- Junior Jamie Lasda had nine draw controls in the two games combined last weekend after picking up nine in her first 25 games in the Scarlet and Gray.
The Schedule Ahead
- Ohio State’s next two games will be in Columbus, with the Buckeyes hosting No. 10 Denver at 1 p.m. Feb. 25 and Cincinnati at 4 p.m. Feb. 28.
- Admission is free to all Ohio State women’s lacrosse regular season home games.

- The 2023 campaign marks the inaugural season for the state-of-the-art Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.
- The stadium features 360-degree vantage points, a heated turf, a first-class training room and more.
- Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium is located on the north end of the Ohio State Athletics District, between the Jennings Wrestling Facility and Ty Tucker Tennis Center and across from the Schumaker Complex on Irving Schottenstein Drive.
- The women’s lacrosse team owns a 2-0 record in the stadium.
