COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 1 Ohio State women's hockey team fell to No. 10 St. Cloud State, 2-1, in the series opener Friday evening at the OSU Ice Rink.

How it Happened
- Ohio State (13-2-0, 10-1-0 WCHA) had the original lead in the game, with Makenna Webster scoring at 11:31 in the first period to give the Buckeyes a 1-0 edge.
- The St. Cloud State power play was the difference maker as the Huskies scored twice in the second period with the skater advantage to take back the lead.
- The Buckeyes outshot the Huskies 47-17 on in the game, but St. Cloud State goaltender Sanni Ahola played an excellent game to hold Ohio State to one goal.
- Webster tallied her fourth goal of the season on Friday and has now scored a goal in the team's last three games.
- Cayla Barnes' assist on Webster's goal is her fourth in as many games. She is now tied with Hadley Hartmetz for the most assists by Buckeye defensemen with 10 helpers this season.
- Friday's loss ended the Buckeyes' home win streak at 16 games. The streak, which started last November, is a program record.
- The game marked Ohio State's fifth consecutive game, and seven straight home game, against a top-10 team. The Buckeyes are now 9-2-0 against ranked teams this season.
