
Buckeyes in California for ITA Fall Nationals

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio State women's tennis team wrapped up the fall slate at the ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego, Calif.
Irina Cantos Siemers was in the 32-player singles draw. In her first-round match the Buckeye captain rallied to force a third set but was unable to complete the comeback, falling 6-2, 3-6, 6-0. She lost in straight sets in her first consolation match.Â
In doubles, Cantos Siemers paired with freshman Luciana Perry. The tandem posted a straight-set victory in the Round of 32, downing a team from Kentucky, 6-4, 6-1, but then lost in the Round of 16, 6-4, 6-2, to a No. 5-8 seeded team from Texas Tech.Â

The Schedule Ahead
- The ITA National Fall Championships close out the 2023 portion of the Buckeye schedule.
- The Buckeyes will return to action at the Michigan Invite Jan. 12-14, 2024Â in Ann Arbor, Mich.
- Ohio State's full dual match schedule will be announced later this month. The squad will open its home slate hosting ITA Kickoff Weekend matches Jan. 26-27, welcoming Kansas, Arizona State and Notre Dame to the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
