COLUMBUS, Ohio – After a mid-week break, Ohio State will travel to State College to battle the undefeated and No. 4-ranked Penn State Lady Lions. The game will begin at 1 p.m. and will be streamed on B1G+. Two streams will be available: an English Broadcast and a Spanish Broadcast.
- This will be the 36th all-time meeting between the two programs with the Lady Lions leading the all-time series 25-8-2.
- Ohio State has won its last two meetings with Penn State and have defeated a ranked Lady Lions team seven times.
- Last year, Ohio State scored three second half goals in an exciting 3-0 victory over No. 6 Penn State for its 10th win over a Top 10 team all-time. Kayla Fischer scored the first goal of the game in the 73rd minute followed by Maddy Lowe and Emma Sears adding goals later in the game.
- The Buckeyes are seeking their fourth win over a Top-5 ranked team in program history.
- Emma Sears has earned seven points in just seven games this season. Her 62 career points are 12th-best in program history.
- Ohio State won its third consecutive Big Ten match last Sunday after dominating Illinois 2-1. The Buckeyes improved to 7-3-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the conference play. With every available Buckeye seeing action, freshman Amanda Schlueter lead the team by scoring in the 18th minute then assisting Kailyn Dudukovich on the game-winning goal in the 30th minute.
- Schlueter was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for her efforts and has four goals and four assists on the season. Her four goals are second on the team and her four assists are tied with Dudukovich for the top spot.
- Penn State is 10-0-2 on the year and 4-0-1 in the conference following a 3-1 victory at Michigan State last Sunday. After drawing with North Carolina to open the season, the Lady Lions won nine consecutive matches before drawing with Michigan on Sept. 28.
- Head coach Lori Walker-Hock secured her 300th career victory at Maryland. She is now the 33rd active coach with 300 career victories. 289 of her 302 wins have come as a Buckeye as this is her 27th year at Ohio State and her 29th year overall.
