COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State (4-6-5, 2-4-1) plays host to Maryland (4-7-3, 0-5-2) Sunday on Senior Day at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. First touch is set for 12:30 p.m. with ceremonies scheduled prior to the match.

Eight Buckeye men's soccer careers are coming to a close in the coming weeks. Keeper Peter Van Euwen, forward Reed Davis, defenders Owen Sullivan, Deylen Vellios, Sean Ryan and Connor DesRoches along with midfielders Brayden Durbin and Laurence Wootton all will be recognized prior to the Maryland match Sunday in Columbus (12:30 p.m.).
The Buckeyes secured a spot in the annual Big Ten Tournament with three points earned after the win at No. 16 Michigan State in East Lansing the last time out. Ohio State has seven total points heading into the final match Sunday vs. Maryland (2 pts).
The seeding for the 2023 Big Ten Tournament will be determined once all matches have been completed Sunday. The top four seeds will host the quarterfinals with the highest seeded advancing team(s) earning home matches through the finals.
Luciano Pechota was the start of the match at Michigan State with a pair of goals, including the match winner, His first half score helped the Buckeyes to a 2-0 lead at the break. He then scored in the 87' to break a 2-all tie and secure the win for the Buckeyes.
Wootton and sophomore Luciano Pechota lead the Buckeyes with four goals each. Both, along with sophomore Marko Borkovic, are tied for the team lead with eight points. Wootton has a pair of game-winning scores on a team-leading 33 shots on the year.
When it comes to experience, Ohio State has five players on its roster who have appeared in 50 or more NCAA Division I men's soccer matches. Brayden Durbin lead the way with 74 appearances while David Wrona, a transfer from Wake Forest, owns 67. Wootton owns the most starts on the 2023 roster with 58 in 59 career appearances.
With 104 corner kicks to date this season, the Buckeyes rank No. 6 nationally with an average of 6.93 per match.
