COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State women's hockey team hosts its home-opener this weekend against No. 4 Minnesota at the OSU Ice Rink. The top-five matchup between the Buckeyes (5-1-0, 4-0-0 WCHA) and Golden Gophers (5-0-0, 3-0-0 WCHA) is set for 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27 and 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.
Both games will be streamed on B1G+ (subscription required).
New Game Day Policies at the OSU Ice Rink
The Buckeyes travel to Bemidji, Minn. to play Bemidji State on Nov. 3-4 at the Sanford Center. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. ET Friday and 4 p.m. ET Saturday and both games will be streamed on B1G+ (subscription required).

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State women's hockey team hosts its home-opener this weekend against No. 4 Minnesota at the OSU Ice Rink. The top-five matchup between the Buckeyes (5-1-0, 4-0-0 WCHA) and Golden Gophers (5-0-0, 3-0-0 WCHA) is set for 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27 and 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

New Game Day Policies at the OSU Ice Rink
- Ohio State women's hockey home games are now ticketed. Tickets for this weekend's games, and all the Buckeyes' home regular season games, can be purchased online HERE or by contacting the Ohio State Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-GOBUCKS. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets prior to arriving on game day.
- A ticket office is located on the southeast side of St. John Arena (facing Woody Hayes Dr) and will be open 90 minutes prior to puck drop and through the second intermission for fans to purchase tickets as well.
- All tickets will be scanned at the ticket office, not at the doors of the OSU Ice Rink.
- Parking is free for women's hockey games in the lots on the north side of the OSU Ice RinkIf there is another event that is also using those lots on game day, fans should self-identify to the parking attendant as attending the women's hockey game for free parking.
- With the new ticket policy, re-entry is not permitted at Ohio State women's hockey games. Ticketholders are permitted within the OSU Ice Rink and St. John Arena once their ticket has been scanned.
- Ohio State improved to 4-0-0 in conference play with a sweep of St. Thomas last weekend in Mendota Heights, Minn. The Buckeyes earned 6-2 and 7-1 wins over the Tommies. Fifteen Buckeyes recorded a point and goaltenders Raygan Kirk and Amanda Thiele made 17 and 20 saves, respectively, for Ohio State's second conference sweep of the season.
- This weekend's matchup against the No. 4-ranked Gophers marks the second top-five matchup for the Buckeyes this year and third top-ten opponent faced in a month. Ohio State has previously faced then-ranked No. 4 Colgate and No. 7 Minnesota Duluth on the road.
- Hannah Bilka continues to lead the team with 10 points this season. She has tallied a team-best six assists and four goals. The Coppell, Texas native has recorded a point in five of six games and finished with multiple points in the last four contests.
- Cayla Barnes has blocked a team-high 10 shots this year. Ohio State averages only 21.00 shots on goal allowed per game and has blocked 44 through six games.
- The Buckeyes rank top-five nationally on the power play (fourth - .333), scoring margin (fifth - 2.50) and scoring offense (fifth - 4.17).
- In the last two series combined, Ohio State's penalty kill finished a perfect 16-for-16. The response has come after going .666 in the season-opening series at Colgate. Ohio State's penalty kill rate is now .880.
- This weekend's home-opener, set for Oct. 27, is the latest in program history outside of the 2020-21 season's delayed start. On home ice, the Buckeyes have won at least 75 percent of their games for the last four seasons. In 2022-23, Ohio State went 16-1-2 at the OSU Ice Rink.
- Eighteen of 20 skaters for Ohio State have recorded at least one point on the year. Thirteen have tallied multiple points.
- Ohio State is 24-82-6 in the all-time series against Minnesota. Nadine Muzerall, who played for the Gophers from 1998-2001, is 16-15-3 against her alma mater.
- The last meeting between the two teams was in the 2923 WCHA Final Faceoff Championship game, which the Gophers took, 3-1, on their home ice.
- Both Ohio State and Minnesota closed the 2022-23 season in the Frozen Four.
- Muzerall also started her collegiate coaching career at Minnesota, serving as an assistant coach there for five years before becoming head coach of the Buckeyes. Assistant coach Kelsey Cline also played for Minnesota and was coached by Muzerall.
- This weekend will be Halloweekend at the OSU Ice Rink. Trick or treating will be held outside the rink pregame and a costume contest will be held during the first intermission of Friday's game.
- Fans are also encouraged to wear black for Saturday's game.
- Schedule posters will be available for the first 500 in attendance for each game this weekend.
