COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State fans won’t have to wait long to see the Buckeyes back in action again. Less than 48 hours after finishing a weekend series vs. Northwestern, Ohio State returns to Buckeye Field on Tuesday for a midweek clash with Toledo. Game time is set for 4 p.m.

As always, admission to Buckeye Field is free. Parking is also available in the lots surrounding Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium and Bill Davis Stadium.

Briefly on the Buckeyes
- Ohio State is 23-10 this season after finishing up a three-game series on Sunday vs. No. 9 Northwestern.
- The Buckeyes are hitting .286 as a team with six everyday starters batting over .300.
- Among those everyday starters leading the team in hitting is sophomore McKenzie Bump, who has started each of the last 19 games and is batting .365 with eight extra base hits.
- Freshman Melina Wilkison, who collected three hits in a doubleheader on Sunday, checks in with a .359 average and .438 on-base percentage.
- Ohio State’s 31 home runs rank fifth in the Big Ten, led by Sam Hackenbracht, who has 10. On Sunday, she hit a sixth-inning grand slam in the first game of a doubleheader vs. Northwestern.
- Graduate student Lexie Handley leads the team in wins (13), strikeouts (165), earned-run average (2.48) and innings pitched (130.0). She is backed by the sophomore tandem of Emily Ruck (38.1 innings pitched) and Allison Smith (49.0 innings pitched).
- As a staff, Ohio State’s 2.89 team ERA ranks fifth in the Big Ten.
Scouting Toledo
- Like Ohio State, Toledo also played a doubleheader on Sunday, falling to Akron by scores of 6-5 and 11-8, respectively.
- The Rockets finish their three-game series with the Zips on Monday at noon.
- Senior Dayna Denner leads the team in every major offensive category, including average (.394), home runs (six), RBI (23) and slugging percentage (.681). She hit a two-run home run vs. Akron yesterday.
- Sophia Knight has started the most games for the Rockets in the circle, going a total of 80.2 innings with 66 strikeouts in 21 appearances with 17 starts.
Series History
- Toledo and Ohio State have only met five times, dating back to the early 2000’s.
- Their last meeting on April 11, 2006, when Ohio State won 13-8 in Columbus.
Buckeye This and That
- Lexie Handley is nearing 500 career strikeouts. She has 487 in 123 career games at Akron, Auburn and Ohio State.
- Handley has 165 Ks in 26 appearances this season and is just 19 away from establishing a new single-season career high in that category.
- Twenty seven of Ohio State’s 31 home runs gave come in the last 20 games, including all 10 by Sam Hackenbracht.
- Niki Carver has 94 career RBI and needs just six more to reach the century mark.
- Hackenbracht and Carver both have 24 career home runs, which is tied for the fifth-most in a career since 2013.
