OSU Opens Mason Rudolph Championship with Round of 282

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State carded six rounds at par or better in the opening round of the Mason Rudolph Championship on Friday at the Vanderbilt Legends Club. As a team, the Buckeyes shot a 2-under 282 and is in 6th place in the 15-team field.
Juniors Jackson Chandler and Patrick Schmucking each opened with rounds of 2-under 69. Chandler finished his day with three birdies in his final five holes. Schmucking, who is playing as an individual, made five birdies in his round on Friday.
The other four Buckeyes in action all carded even-par rounds of 71. Adam Wallin made a team-high six birdies, including five on the closing nine. JonErik Alford posted three birdies and a closing eagle on the par-5 18th to finish his day. Maxwell Moldovan birdied his final hole to post his eighth consecutive round of par or better.
Ohio State was one of six teams under-par on the day. Host Vanderbilt leads the way at 18-under par. The Buckeyes are paired with Liberty and Cincinnati on Saturday and will start at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday morning.
