
Men’s DMR Leads Day One at Notre Dame Meyo Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team began competition at the Notre Dame Meyo Invite on Friday. The Buckeye men won the distance medley relay in 10:04.59 with Nick Miller, Kashawn Baptiste, Alex Kenish and Nick Regas teaming up for the event.
- Amaya Ugarte made her season debut by earning third place in the women’s high jump, clearing 1.74m.
- The Ohio State men saw two top-10 finishes in the 200m as Kainnan Ramsey finished fifth (21.85, season-best) and Baptiste finished seventh (21.91).
- Cierra Pyles took eighth overall in the women’s long jump with a season-long 5.56m as she finished second in her heat.
- All three Buckeyes in the women’s 60m hurdles qualified for Saturday’s semifinals as Pyles finished sixth (8.71), Morgan Lewis ninth (8.72) and Britten Bowen 12th overall (8.82). Pyles and Lewis both won their heats.
- All three Ohio State men in the 60m preliminary rounds qualified to run the semifinals. Ramsey finished third overall with a season-best time of 6.79. Trey Gardette tied for fifth (6.90) and Tavonte Mott also qualified with his fastest time of the season (7.06). Ramsey and Gardette both won their heats.
- Tyrese Fajardo competed in the men’s 600m with his season-best time of 1:20.37.
- John Cuozzo ran Ohio State’s first 5000m of the season, beating his previous career-best by 10 seconds to finish in 14:46.22.

Ohio State wraps up competition at the Notre Dame Meyo Invite on Saturday with track events beginning at 10 a.m. and field events beginning at 10:30 a.m. The pole vaulters will be competing at the Jud Logan Light Giver Open beginning with the women at 11 a.m.
