
Buckeyes Open 2022 with Scrimmage Sunday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team will take the field inside Woody Hayes Athletic Center for a preseason scrimmage vs. Vanderbilt at 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free. University and City of Columbus policies are to wear masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status.
A Glance at the Schedule
The regular season begins Feb. 12 when the Buckeyes welcome Robert Morris for a 3:30 p.m. contest inside WHAC.
In all, Ohio State is slated to host eight games in Columbus. Matchups vs. the RMU Colonials (Feb. 12) and Marquette (Feb. 20) are expected to played inside Woody Hayes Athletic Center, before moving to Ohio Stadium for nonconference games vs. James Madison (March 4), Mount St. Mary’s (March 12) and Marist (March 15). Big Ten home games include Penn State March 26, Maryland April 17 and Rutgers April 28 and will be played in The Shoe.
Admission is free to all Ohio State women’s lacrosse regular season home games.
Buckeye This and That
- Buckeye midfielder Lindsay Epstein, attack Nicole Ferrara and midfielder Chloë Johnson were recognized as Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch this week.
- Ohio State has five captains this season. Epstein is a team captain for the third time and is joined by Sophie Baez, Cai Martin, Maura McGregor and Nicole Ferrara.
- Four Buckeyes returned to the program for a fifth year and are working toward graduate degrees. The group includes Baez (sport management), Ali Beekhuizen (sport management), Epstein (sport management) and Riley Ewing (applied economics).
