
Buckeyes Hit the Road for Game at Cincinnati

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team (1-0) heads south for a midweek game vs. Cincinnati (0-1) at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Nippert Stadium. Admission is free.
The game will be streamed through the ESPN Plus subscription service and live stats will be available.
Buckeyes vs. Bearcats
- The Buckeyes are 8-1 all-time against Cincinnati, with a 4-1 record on the road.
- The teams met each year from 2015-2020 before the streak was ended last season when Ohio State played only Big Ten games in the regular season.
- In the last game, Ohio State won 15-10 in Columbus over the Bearcats.
- Gina Thomas (Oliver), UC head coach, was a three-time All-American for the Buckeyes and is the program’s all-time leader in ground balls (236) and caused turnovers (201), ranking fifth in draw controls (121) and ninth in career points (166).
Buckeye This and That
- Ohio State opened the year with a 17-5 win over Robert Morris Saturday in Woody Hayes Athletic Center. Nicole Ferrara led the Buckeyes with five points, on a hat trick and two assists, and Jamie Lasda and Caly O’Brien also scored three goals each. Lindsay Epstein had four points with two goals and two assists. Chloë Johnson had 11 draw controls, one of her career best, and three points with two goals. In the cage, Claire Morris (3 saves) and Regan Alexander (8 saves) split time, with Morris making her first career start.
- Sixteen Buckeyes made their debuts in the Scarlet and Gray in the win over the Colonials.
- Johnson now has 96 draw controls at Ohio State, ranking 10th in program history. Her 11 draw controls Saturday were the second-most for a Buckeye since 2016, behind only the 12 she recorded last season vs. Penn State. It was her sixth career multi-goal outing and her third career three-point day.
- Epstein’s four-point day was her third career game with four or more points and her seventh as a Buckeye with three or more. She now has 55 points as a Buckeye, including 41 goals. Nicole Ferrara also now has 41 career goals in the Scarlet and Gray after a hat trick vs. RMU. Her five-point day was her sixth career with four or more points and one off the career-high six she had vs. Northwestern last year. She has 57 points at Ohio State.
- Caly O’Brien had her second career hat trick, and first since Feb. 15, 2020 at Stony Brook, against Robert Morris. It was her third career three-point game.
- The Buckeyes’ game at Louisville March 31 will be televised by ACC Network and the game at Johns Hopkins April 23 will be on ESPNU. Both games will be available through the ESPN app for fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider. BTN has not yet announced its television schedule. Ohio State regular season home games not televised will be streamed through the Big Ten Plus subscription service.
The Schedule Ahead
The Buckeyes will return home to host Marquette inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center at noon Sunday.
