Swimming & Diving Announces Seven Signees

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State Director of Swimming & Diving Bill Dorenkott has announced seven signees for the class of 2023.

Henry Amar | Free | Bronx, N.Y.

Josh Bedford | Free | Austin, Texas

Four-year letterwinner at Vandergrift High School
So far in his senior season, has set three program records
Is a two-time All-State swimmer and was a state finalist in 2022
Has been an Academic All-District honoree three times
Swims at the club level for Austin Swim Club
In 2022, was a Junior National Qualifier and a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American
Helped his 800 free relay team to an eighth place finish at the 2021 summer Junior Nationals

Evan Blazer | Free | Springfield, Ohio

Is a four-year letterwinner at Kenton Ridge High School
Is a two-time Central Buckeye Conference (CBC) Swimmer of the Year and three-time Kenton Ridge Most Valuable Swimmer
Has earned three straight top-10 finishes in the 100 free at the state championships, placing a career-best fourth in 2022
In 2022, also placed fourth in the 50 free at the state championships
Swims at the club level for Springfield YMCA
Is a three-time YMCA National Qualifier and a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American
In 2021-22, Blazer was also a Futures Qualifier for the second time, a Winter Junior National Qualifier and a FINA World Cup qualifier

Bella Fisco | Fly/Breast | Clarita, Calif.

Is a four-year letterwinner at Saugus High School
Holds school records in the 100 fly, 100 breast, 200 free relay and 200 medley relay and holds the Foothill League 100 fly record
Placed fourth in the 100 fly at the 2022 California State Championships
In the Foothill League Championships, placed first in the 100 fly, 100 breast, 200 free relay and 200 medley relay
Is a two-time NISCA All-American
Has also swam for Rose Bowl Aquatics and Canyons Aquatics
Holds the Canyons 100 fly and 100 breast records and the Rose Bowl 100 fly record
Was a 2022 Winter Junior finalist
Is a three-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American

Cornelius Jahn | Back/Free | Ahrensburg, Germany

Has competed for 12 years with Ahrensburger TSV and is also a member of Team Germany
Was the 2022 German champion in the 200 back and 100 back and was the third-place finisher in the 50 back with Ahrensburger TSV
With Ahrensburger TSV in 2021, was the German short course champion in the 200 back
At the Euro Junior Championships with Team Germany in 2021, Jahn placed fourth in the 50 back, eighth in the 200 back and 12^th in the 100 back
At the German Championships, he placed second in the 200 back in 2021

Tyler Read | Diving | Henrico, Va.

Attends Grove Christian School in Richmond, Va.
Is a two-time VISAA State Champion and set a state record in 2021
Is a three-time NISCA All-American honoree
Competes at the club level for Alexandria
In 2022, was a Junior National Finalist in the 1-meter dive (11^th place) and the 3-meter dive(10^th place) and was a semi-finalist on the platform
Was a Junior National Qualifier in the 1M, 3M and platform in 2021
In 2020, was an AAU National Champion on the 1M, 3M and platform
Was a Junior National finalist in the 3M (seventh place) and a semi-finalist in the 1M and the platform in 2019

Eli Stoll | Back | Plain City, Ohio

Attends high school at Jonathan Adler, where he is a four-year letterwinner in the backstroke
Was a state qualifier and placed in the 100 back (fourth place) and the 200 IM (sixth place)
Competes at the club level for GCSTO
In 2022, was a Junior National Qualifier in the 100 back and earned a 10^th place finish
Was a Junior National Qualifier and finalist in the 200 back and 200 fly in 2021
In 2021, was also an Olympic Trials Qualifier in the 100 back and was a Futures Qualifier and earned a second-place finish in the 100 back
