Buckeyes Win 800 Free Relay Bronze on Night One of NCAAs

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State 800 free relay team won bronze on the first night of the NCAA Championships on Wednesday.
The 800 free relay team of Tomas Navikonis, Cornelius Jahn, Jordi Vilchez and Tristan Jankovics entered the NCAA Championships as the two-seed, winning the Big Ten title and recording the second-fastest time in the country to that point (6:06.54). The Buckeyes continued their 800 free relay dominance, with the team placing third with a new program-record time of 6:06.40. The finish earns Navikonis, Jahn, Vilchez and Jankovics Firat Team All-American honors.
The relay team of Jahn, Ahmed Ismail, Matt Klinge and Rasmus Hanson placed 22nd in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:23.42.
After the first day of competition, the No. 11 Buckeyes are in 10th place with 32 points.
The NCAA Championships continue March 26-28. Each day, prelims will begin at 10 a.m. and finals get underway at 6 p.m. All sessions will stream on ESPN+.
