
Jankovics Wins 400 IM Bronze on Night Two of NCAA Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the second straight season, Ohio State senior Tristan Jankovics medaled in the 400 IM at the NCAA Championships.
Jankovics, who was the silver medalist in the 400 IM in 2025, secured the final spot in Thursday night's finals session, placing eighth in prelims with a time of 3:37.59. In finals, Janovics placed third to win the bronze medal, shaving over two seconds off his prelim time to finish in 3:35.40. His finish earns him First Team All-American honors.
In the 200 free, Tomas Navikonis set a program-record time of 1:30.77 in prelims to place second and secure his spot in finals. Navikonis broke his own previously held record of 1:31.01 set in 2025. In finals, Navikonis placed fourth, touching at 1:30.78 to earn First Team All-American honors.
The Buckeye relay team of Matt Klinge, Rasmus Hanson, Jack Schuster and Evan Fentress placed 17th in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:16.04, just narrowly missing Honorable Mention All-American status. The 16th place team, Kentucky, finished in 1:16.03.
After two days of competition, the No. 11 Buckeyes are in 11th place with 63 points.
The NCAA Championships continue March 27-28. Each day, prelims will begin at 10 a.m. and finals get underway at 6 p.m. All sessions will stream on ESPN+.
