COLUMBUS, Ohio – Forwards Kayla Fischer and Emma Sears each had a goal and an assist as Ohio State earned a 2-2 draw on the road at Nebraska on Saturday afternoon.

The Buckeyes are now unbeaten in their last five matches and are 8-2-3 overall and 3-1-2 in Big Ten play. Nebraska is also 3-1-2 in the conference and 5-4-5 on the season.

How it Happened

Ohio State got on the board first in the 14^th minute as Fischer played a cross into the box that was deflected into the net by Sears for her team-leading sixth goal of the season. Less than four minutes later, Nebraska tied the score, and it remained that way until halftime.

In the 59^th minute, the same two Buckeyes hooked-up again as this time it was Sears playing a ball into the box. Fischer went up and headed it past the Nebraska keeper to put the Buckeyes in front 2-1.

The Huskers were then pressing and found the equalizer in the 86^th minute.

Notes

Fischer, the reigning Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, scored a goal of the third consecutive game. She now has four goals on the season and she also notched her first assist of the year.
Sears scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season. She now matches her goal total from last season and is one-off her career-high of seven set during the 2020 season
The Buckeyes had a streak of 412:44 scoreless minutes
