
Five Event Wins Wrap Up Rod McCravy Memorial

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team completed competition at the Rod McCravy Memorial on Saturday in Lexington, Ky. The Buckeyes won five events – four on the women’s side and one on the men’s side.
Adelaide Aquilla remained undefeated in the women’s shot put, winning her third competition of the season with a throw of 18.58m. She beat the field by more than three meters. Anavia Battle won her second 60m race of the season with Ohio State women’s season-best time of 7.24.
Jamie Robinson earned her second victory of the season in the women’s triple jump (12.85m). Clarence Foote-Talley completed the Buckeyes’ sweep of the triple jump, winning the men’s field with 16.38m. Addie Engel picked up a win in her first solo race of the indoor season, the women’s mile (4:54.03).
- Lacey Stringer finished second in the women’s shot put with a season-best throw of 15.84m, beating her previous season-best by more than two meters and securing a one-two finish for the Buckeyes.
- The Ohio State men posted strong performances in the shot put as well, finishing second, fourth and sixth. Hayden Tobias had the best throw for the Buckeye men so far this season, 18.43m, to clinch the runner-up spot and was just 0.07m behind the winner. Carlos Aviles threw a 17.71m for fourth place and Adam Riedinger was sixth with a throw of 16.92m.
- The Buckeye men also finished second, fourth and sixth in the pole vault. Robbie Oswald tied for second by clearing 5.18m on the first try. Leo Uusimaki took fourth place by clearing 5.18m on the second try and Daniel Drellishak rounded out the top-six by clearing 4.88m.
- Aziza Ayoub led the OSU women in a strong showing of the 800m by finishing in second place (2:06.12). Mary Figler finished fifth overall with a time of 2:08.30. The OSU men finished four-five in the 800m as Nick Miller ran a 1:50.88 and Cameron Cooper a 1:51.16.
- Behind Engel, the Buckeye women had three others finish in the top-10 in the women’s mile. Hannah Moulton finished fourth (4:59.10), Daniella Santos was fifth (5:00.86) and Gia Napolean was ninth (5:12.25).
- Five of the fastest 10 times in the men’s mile belonged to Ohio State. Sean Carney led the Buckeyes as the runner-up (4:11.06), while Jake Wickert (4:15.15), Michael Zedan (4:15.62) and Ivan Slyepkan (4:18.36) finished fifth through seventh. Zubin Jha rounded out the top-10 (4:21.34).
- Eric Harrison took third (6.67) in the men’s 60m finals with the OSU men’s fastest time of the season after finishing fifth overall (6.75) in the semifinals.
- Cierra Pyles earned fourth in the women’s triple jump with a season-best 12.52m.
- In the 4x400m relay, Donnie James, Zidane Brown, Eric Harrison and Armani Modeste ran a 3:12.86 to finish fourth overall. The Buckeyes also had teams finish eighth (3:16.44) and 10th (3:28.15). On the women’s side, Nya Bussey, Battle, Catherine Dorsey and Jaydan Wood finished seventh (3:44.63) and another Ohio State team finished eighth (3:46.11).
- Alyssa Marsh finished eighth in the women’s 400m (54.74).
- Oscar Smith qualified for the men’s 60m hurdles by finishing eighth (8.08) in the semi-finals and finished seventh (8.10) in the finals.
- In the 3000m, Nick Regas finished seventh (8:11.53) on the men’s side while Akemi Von Scherr broke the 10-minute mark in the 3000m (9:59.06) to finish ninth overall on the women’s side.
